One of Colorado's top agencies, Vladimir Jones, shared how, every once in a while, you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right when they were moved to research the Wild West West of Medical Marijuana (MMJ).

It appeared that almost overnight, the medical marijuana industry exploded into a $20 billion cash cow. But a glaring challenge to the MMJ business was that very little was known about their customer -- most specifically, their perceptions, preferences and buying habits -- which meant no one knew how to effectively talk to them, or more importantly, market to them. In late 2010, Vladimir Jones initiated one of the first research studies on the MMJ customer, revealing a number of key insights that would help drive the marketing strategy for the agency's MMJ client, Dixie Elixir. Hear what the research showed and how it is being used to grab market share in an industry where differentiation is difficult to articulate and word-of-mouth is the primary motivator.
